I am a self taught artist and a word collector. I have been married for 44 years, I have three children and two grandchildren. With the children grown and out on their own with their families, this slightly over middle age season that I am in, I find time to pursue my passion of art. I love art classes with friends and online art classes. I love mixed media and texture. I enjoy painting expressions and emotions that go with stories I have written. I have a desire to connect with other women through my art and to offer encouragement and inspiration.

Things that inspire me

Family, friends, people, words quotes, encouraging scripture verses, inspirational books, talking with other women and hearing their stories, seeing His hands work behind the scenes.

Things that make me happy

Spending time with my family, laughing out loud with a friend, remembering special moments with my children, talking to strangers in the check out lines, (this used to mortify my children but now, I can do it all I want!) spoiling my grandchildren, cooking new recipes, putting out my good china and silver for a tea party, placing little torn pieces of paper on serving plates for an upcoming party with what will go on them, so I won’t forget, making lists and remembering where I put them, when mental words become stories in my journal or a blank canvas, getting a new pack of extra fine tip black sharpies, getting gift certificates from art supply stores, 03 lead mechanical pencils, getting to glance at an older woman with short white hair from the back, imaging for a moment that is, my mother, only to get closer to her as she turns around and our eyes meet, we smile at each other and then continue to walk our own ways, eating popcorn at the movies with my husband, grape slushes from Dairy Queen, cupcakes from Dreamcakes, staying at a wedding reception long enough to taste the wedding cake.
