Acrylic and watercolor play
This week my daughter asked me to help her with some thank you gifts. She had just gotten back from a work trip and wanted to send the ladies a thank you for helping her. So, she was giving me ideas of sayings or designs and mentioned that her favorite quote was by CT Studd… that said…. “Only one life, `twill be past, only what`s done for Christ will last.” So, I pulled out a small canvas that I had been working on, finished it up and cut and pasted the words out to put on the front. I finished the picture with mod podge coating and then when it was dry, I applied Dorland wax… I had seen someone else use this process and wanted to try it out. It leaves a nice matt finished on the it…..and then, it was finished…
Ok, One gift done. Now, we wanted to do a variety note card package to give the other two ladies. I got out my watercolors and played with some pencil sketches… I am in the middle of a class with Danielle Donaldson, http://danielledonaldson.com/ that I love, and she does the most awesome watercolor girls. I am still learning the techniques but tried to do some different looks….
I had fun with these little ladies, then scanned and put onto some cards, with a little saying or word to go with it, add a rhinestone for embellishment, then packed them up to give her.
All her thank you gifts taken care of… Now on to another project !!
Thank you for visiting with me. I am linked with Sunday Sketches today at
