“Let`s face it”, lesson with Olga
I have really enjoyed a class that I am taking called “Let`s face it”. Kara Bulloch is the brains behind it. There are weekly lessons and she has many other guest artist who participate teaching the lessons. Several weeks ago, yes, I am behind, surprise, surprise, Olga Furman had a mini lesson. It is called mini or bonus lesson but was in such detail that it seemed like a regular lesson to me. I started it while I was still on vacation. Funny how it makes me feel that once I have the face or subject drawn, I am well on my way, when actually, that is only a small part of the overall painting. But it makes me feel like I have accomplished something!!
Anyway, she sat for several weeks, just drawn and nothing else. Partly because I am a bit intimidated by Olga`s talent!! But I persevered this week and finished her up. Her face was done with stabilo and clear gesso. She made hers into a clown…..
When I got to this point, I kind of had a hard time putting that red nose and circle cheeks and painting mouth on her.. LOL!!
But here is the finished girl…
Looking back now, she was fun to create. Thank you Olga for your lesson!! Here is her facebook link if you would like to have a look at her beautiful paintings.

In closing today, my heart hurts as we hear of the latest policemen killings in Baton Rouge. Praying for all of the families and the other policemen, who daily put their lives on the line for us, for our lives. Just unbelievable to see such hate in men.
Have a good week,
Love,
Jane

This is a gorgeous painting. I would never be able to do it. Your end product is lovely….and you were able to get the red circle on her nose, cheeks, and mouth. And her hair. I just love those knots on each side. What a wonderful creation. You did a wonderful job. Give yourself a pat on the back for a job WELL DONE! genie
