From wood to acrylic to finished

This week as I watched the lifebook 2016 lesson, instead of pulling out some mixed media paper to work on, I had a piece of board I was saving for the right project, and it was what I decided to use.  It is 12×24, and I thought it would be good for this lesson with two faces. It was a joint lesson with Jane Davenport and Tamara Laporte, a fun look when you combine their talents… I sketched the girls off to see how it would fit on the board first.

Then started with the acrylics… as you can see here, once again, I find it hard to work on just one project at a time.. LOL… several other paintings in the background, waiting for their turn…

After more layers, and a tiny red bird on her blue hair, I was ready for some detail work..

It is hard to see but I used the white posca pen to do some lines on the blue dress, and details on the red dress and dots…

I call this one “Just Friends”

Have a wonderful new week!!
