Art created to encourage the heart
Original Art
Liza Lou came about simply because I decided to wander off the path a little! She is 16 × 20 canvas
I love painting my angels and the softer girls that have become such a part of my work, but every once in a while I just want to try something different. No real plan. Just pull out the paints and see what happens. And along came Liza Lou!
She is a little quirky, a little wonky and definitely doesn't take herself too seriously. I had so much fun playing with brighter colors, her funny little expression and all the unexpected details that seemed to find their way onto the canvas.
Somewhere along the way I decided she needed one little word tucked into the painting…
DREAM.
Because I think no matter what season of life we are in, there should always be room to dream. To try something new. To wander off the path every now and then just to see where it might take us.
Liza Lou certainly wasn't planned, but maybe that's part of what I love most about her.
She is an original, one-of-a-kind painting, created with lots of layers, texture and, most of all, a little bit of whimsy.
I hope wherever she lands, she brings a smile—and perhaps a little reminder to keep dreaming.
Chosen
An Intricate Weaving of Art, Scriptures and Memories
by Jane Lazenby
The idea started back in 2020 when the world suddenly changed as we knew it.
I started posting a letter a day on my Instagram and went through the alphabet with words and a short paragraph matching each letter. In an attempt to bring a bit of encouragement during those days, the idea to one day turn it into a book was born. The original idea has taken many detours along the way, but now has become a reality.
Chosen is packed with art, short stories and woven together with His words.
It is filled with memories and is a tribute to the ladies in my life who went before me as well as an encouragement and hope for future generations.
“Thank you Jane. I love both of your books and decided these would be my birthday gifts to my women family and friends this year. Thank you for all the beauty you bring to the world. Your God-given gifts are a treasure in my life. Keep looking up.”
