Vintage music girls

I am still working to do my 30 faces in 30 days challenge. Some days are pushing to get her done but it has been fun to try.. One of the prompts was Music. I have plenty of music, some from when Mother took lessons and my grandmother, and some left over from my childhood. I am glad that Mother made me take lessons but I sure did not like it at the time!! Practice was torture to me at that point but now, I wish I had taken more. LOL!!

So, I  knew right where to go to get some music to paint on. I pencil sketched a face and watercolored her. Even gave her some funky hair…and hair color.

I loved the Music Man, and found this piece from it, “Till there was you.” perfect for the background.

I wanted to try one more while I had the supplies out, so this little princess angel came to life.

  1. I never had music lessons as a child, but now as an adult, I think it would be wonderful to know how to play an instrument. I am always in awe of those who do. Love the idea of sketching on music sheets. The faces and colors came out so well on both pieces.

    1. thank you Barbara!! yes, funny how that works, when we were younger we thought we knew best as to what to do with our time!! It just wasn`t my passion but learned enough to play for my enjoyment, alone!! Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
