Nature angel
This week I was working on some catch up lessons that I had not done yet . I had wanted to get to this one from Mindy Lacefield called "Permission to play".As I am taking some online classes, I have come to realize that some of mine do not look like the lesson and that is alright. You would not look at this painting and know immediately that it is one of Mindy`s lessons. But I guess it is a good thing when you can add your spin on it. That is what they all say, anyway.... I do love Mindy`s style though!!I call this little girl my Nature Angel. After the collage, I highlighted the white with different shades of green then I sketched her out and used watercolor to outline the features.I went back over the face with some heavy white gesso to make the details show up better, then went back over the eyes and the outline with a black stabilo pencil. I really love those pencils. They write over anything just about, even wet paint...More layers of paint....More touch up paint, a bit of yellow ocre, and pink to highlight her cheeks, and when I was finished , I added some butterfly wings and a bird, to collage with her. I decided to use the butterfly wings over the ones that I had painted in. Dabbed her a little white halo and then called her finished. I am still looking for a good mantra to go with her...Happy to be linked with Sunday Sketches this week. Follow here to see all the wonderful art that people share over there..Have a great new week!Love,Jane
