Fall Pre-Halloween fun
Today is Monday. The Monday before Halloween and I was kind of feeling it in the air. It started out as many Mondays, me anticipating spending the day with my little buddy, Leif.After I picked him up from his Mommie, we went to Walmart to do a bit of shopping. I had several pinterest ideas in my mind to fix for school treats.I had found this cute little pumpkin poem and treat bags here on pinterest, and followed it to her blog. I created my own template but used her poem and idea of the candy corn pumpkins. Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.The first one said, “Oh, my it’s getting late!”The second one said, “there are witches in the air.”The third one said, “But we don’t care.”The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run!”The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun!”Oooooooh, went the wind and out went the lightsand the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.I printed the labels off, made them 6x6 inches, just the size to fit the snack baggies, when folded...
I then, waited for Leif to wake up from his nap so he could help me stuff the little bags.
I used 5 little pumpkins, as it says.... folded the topper over and stapled it on.
Then printed up some tags for big brother Heston to have for his class
Used the same snack baggies and put a few hershey`s chocolate, and a few pumpkins in there, folded it over and stapled the labels on them, and they were ready to go..
Now to the last project for the day.... I had heard about brownies using pumpkin and brownie mix and had wanted to try it for myself. I found some Halloween Chocolate chips at Walmart, chocolate and orange mixed. I will have to admit that Walmart has an excellent selection of anything pumpkin these days. Lots of cookie and cake mixes , cheesecakes mixes and all sorts of chips are in the displays there. I added the chips to the brownie mix and pumpkin then cooked. They came out great. They have a little different consistency than brownies, a bit like muffins, LOL, and probably cause they don`t have lots of sugar in there, but there are very good!!
My sister says she will be glad when pumpkin season is over so I will quit cooking with it!!But, it makes me happy to find it in the stores, then makes something tasty with it, so I will be sad not to find it anymore...
