Daniel 2-Nebuchadnezzar`s dream

Daniel 2Nebuchadnezzar was arguable, the most powerful man of his time. He had the worldat his fingertips. His power was limitless, in his mind. Even with all that power, heexperienced troubling dreams that he couldn`t interpret. He threatened theastrologers, "If you don`t tell me WHAT my dream was and interpret it, I will haveyou cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble." 2:5He was so angry no one could interpret his dream that he ordered the executionof ALL the wise men in BaylonDaniel asks his friends to plead to God for mercy. God indeed answered their prayersand revealed the mystery to Daniel in a night vision. Daniel immediately praisedGod. and reveals the King`s dream to him.The image he had seen in his dream was a statue. The head of gold represents King Nebuchadnezzar. The chest and arms of silver represent the Medo-Persians.  The belly and thighs of bronze represent Greece. The legs and feet of iron and clay represent Rome, then the divided kingdom. All the kingdoms were smashed into dust by a stone made without hands. The stone represents God`s kingdom, which destroys the others.Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel. "Surely your God is the god of godsand the Lord of Kings and a revealer of mysteries" 2:47He promoted Daniel and his three friends. In doing so, this enabled them to protect the futureof Isreal during the years of captivity. In Summary:Nebuchadnezzar saw God as one of many gods. The constant need to gain and maintain power was his utmost goal. He was unlikely a true believer. Daniel, however, spoke of a different kind of power. A power that was not of this earth and would never falter.Daniel understood the value of having prayer partners as he asked his friends to plead with him for mercy from God.Think of friends you have that pray with you or for you.Consider if you are that kind of friend for others?"The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. " Daniel 2:44"On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand."Have a great day!Love,
