As we are getting used to this new reality of staying close to home, my mind wanders to all of the kids who will be at their homes, with you, and looking for things to do. So, with that in mind, I have created some coloring pages for you to download. You can print them off and have your child create their version with whatever art supplies you have in your home. I know there is much uncertainty right now, and it is important for us to show our children, peace, and calm through our actions. These sheets are meant to encourage and give hope where there could be fear in the unknown.  The scriptures I have chosen to be included with the pictures are specifically chosen for that reason.Today is a little princess with the verse, "God is within her, she will not fall" James 1:17DOWNLOAD FREE Coloring SheetI will have boy themed too so if you don`t have a little girl, check back or share this with a little girl you know so she can play too. After you have downloaded and printed and your child has finished his/her version, please take a minute to go to Instagram or Facebook and post the finished piece and share it to encourage those around you. Tag me in it and I will share your beautiful art on my pages and we can see all those who are joining in. (I have a feeling we adults could use a little creativity in this season too. So don't be shy print one for yourself and join in the fun!)I will be having a giveaway, through your participation as you share and post your art a name will be chosen to receive the original piece that I created and did with watercolor. You can use any supplies that you have in your home, crayons, acrylics watered down, or watercolors. If these are not available for you, I have found a recipe for homemade watercolors! I have not tried this yet but have researched and this sounds like a fun project to do with your children before they do the sheet. Print as many as you want and pick the best to hang up and admire. It is never too early to praise your child for their artistic talent. You never know what those words of inspiration will mean to them as they grow up and look back when they heard them!Today's Coloring SheetHOMEMADE WATERCOLORSThese homemade watercolor paints can be used the same as any other watercolor paint.  Keep a small bowl of water handy for dipping your brush.  Dip your brush in the water, then swirl it around on one of the sections of paint, and then start painting onto your paper.  Rinse your brush and dry it on paper toweling when switching colors.Ingredients:4 Tablespoons Baking Soda2 Tablespoons White Vinegar1/2 Teaspoon Light Corn Syrup2 Tablespoons Corn StarchFor tinting your paints you will also need Food Coloring and Toothpicks. (Liquid food coloring was used for this watercolor set, but it may be possible to use the gel type of food coloring as well.)When measuring your baking soda, you should be careful to level it off in the measuring spoon so that you don’t use too much.  Also when measuring the vinegar, you want to be sure you fill the measuring spoon full.  Careful measuring is important for this recipe. As more drops of liquid food coloring are added, the wetter that mixture becomes, and the longer it will take to thoroughly dry.  If you are adding several drops of liquid food coloring to one of the sections, you might want to sprinkle just a tiny bit more cornstarch in too or be prepared to be more patient. You will also need some type of container with about a dozen little sections.  A mini muffin tin worked perfectly.  Some other ideas might be an egg carton or an ice cube tray.

  1. Measure out your baking soda into a measuring cup.
  2. Add the vinegar and let it fizz up, then stir it into the baking soda.
  3. Next, add the light corn syrup and the corn starch, and mix well.  You should end up with a mixture that’s about the consistency of Elmer's glue.
  4. Pour the mixture into the sections of your container.  Fill each section of tin about 1/4 to 1/2 full.
  5. The next step is to tint your paints.  Add whatever drops of food coloring you are using into a section, and then stir the food coloring in using a toothpick until the color is evenly distributed.
  6. Now you will need to let your new watercolor set harden up.  This will take a day or two.  They are pretty good after about 24 hours, except for a couple of the colors that had 4 or 5 drops of food coloring.

Thanks to https://www.themakeyourownzone.com/ for sharing this recipe for homemade watercolorsIf you still need your coloring sheet for today Download HEREI am excited to see what your child will create from these. If you are planning to use watercolors, I would suggest printing on a heavier sheet of paper that can hold the extra water. If you are using typing paper, you could always gesso or mod podge it to a wood surface or cardboard afterward like a collage. Let me know if you have any questions.  Good luck and happy arting!!!Love,
