“To my daughter on her wedding day” Poem. How quickly life change, right? This year has brought many changes. My heart has gone out to all of the brides who had been planning their dream wedding and had had to make hard decisions. They have had to make choices to move forward with their wedding plans, knowing the crowds will be limited or postpone their wedding to a later date.
A new decade. stepping into the unknown
I don`t think it hit me about the importance of this new year as we were moving toward it until I heard someone say, “Welcome to a new decade”. A new decade? Wow. That sounds massive to me. A decade. Ten years. What happened to the last decade and how did it go by so quickly? What does this new decade hold for me? The thoughts take me back to what it was like 10 years ago as we were anticipating the upcoming decade. The unknown was about to happen.
New Collaborations
A few months ago, I met a few friends for coffee. One old friend and one new friend, sat around the table with me as we talked nonstop about life and our mutual connection, art. Our minds collide with ideas, thoughts, and dreams. Our mutual friend, Chrissie, is on a new journey with her family as they have moved to Germany for a few years with her husband`s work.
Meet my friend, Deborah
I met her in Atlanta 23 years ago, at a couple`s Sunday School party. Soon, we would work together, our children played together and our daughters took ice skating lessons together. As I got to know her, I was impressed with her talents and gifts back then and boy, have they exploded these last years. She is a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She is a retired teacher. Her gifts include knitting, smocking, sewing and embroidering, crafting and cooking.
